James Arnold Joins ClearBridge Investments as Business Development Manager
ClearBridge Investments today announced that James Arnold, CFA, joined the organization as Business Development Manager. Mr. Arnold will be based in London, United Kingdom and will report to Ryan Virag, CFA. Mr. Arnold will bolster the firm’s European presence by coordinating institutional sales and marketing efforts. Mr. Arnold will also collaborate with other members of the organization and parent company Legg Mason to grow sales and brand recognition.
ClearBridge Investments is a leading global investment manager committed to delivering long-term results through authentic active management. The firm employs a disciplined investment approach that utilizes fundamental research and the insights of veteran portfolio managers – some of whom have been managing the same portfolio for decades – to build portfolios that generate distinct return streams. ClearBridge offers equity strategies focused on three primary client objectives: high active share, income solutions and low volatility.
“James joins ClearBridge at a time in which investors will increasingly need to access investment strategies outside their home markets to generate the returns they need,” said Terrence Murphy, Chief Executive Officer of ClearBridge Investments. “James’s expertise in partnering with institutional buyers and their consultants will be invaluable as we seek to deliver proven active management to clients who need it in a rising rate, low growth, potentially higher volatility market environment.”
Mr. Arnold joins ClearBridge Investments from Goodhart Partners where he served as Sales Director since 2015. At Goodhart, Mr. Arnold focused on Pan-European sales and marketing; representing the firm’s Global Equity, Japanese Equity, Emerging Markets Equity and the United Kingdom Long/Short Investment Strategies. Prior to that position he has held relevant sales and client services positions at Artisan Partners, Janus Capital, Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley. Mr. Arnold holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Economics from the University of York.
